admittedly, i’ve found myself frustrated at various points throughout zooomr’s recent prolonged downtime as its overseers upgrade the site to the latest version mark iii. this isn’t a bad thing. i simply love the site and the community, and i’m anxious to login again, share new photos and catch up on the work of some of my favorite fellow zooomrs. for a while there, i thought i might soon transition from frustration to the seven stages of grief, but it appears that zooomr will soon be back online. congratulations to kris and thomas, the guys behind the site.
anyway, despite my impatience, i must say that i enjoyed a great deal the live video stream, or zooomr tv, offered by the guys at zooomr through the upgrade period. the stream offered a unique glimpse into the inner workings of a fledgling startup at a significant crossroads and access to the people behind the site. the associated live chat rounded out the experience nicely. i am a big admirer of thomas hawk’s work. needless to say, it was a great thrill to be able to pick his brain on various photography techniques, equipment and software, as well as to discuss trivial topics like music, booze, great places to photowalk and other such nonsense.
thanks, kris and thomas, for opening the kimono. best of luck with mark iii.
